A new light

I saw it sitting on the lowest shelf at mine and Taylor's

favorite secret antique shop. It begged me to buy it.

I could imagine lighting this lamp before supper time

with my family looking on. A new light. A light that

now sits atop my new table.

I lit it last night for the first time.

I slowly filled the glass bottom with the lamp oil and

then turned the knob to lift the wick out of the oil.

I struck and it filled our space, my favorite space, with

beautiful glowing light.

It's simple, like me (although Scott just laughed
a hearty laugh and said
I most certainly was not simple)
and it was only a few dollars,

but I hope that it will be among my kids memories.
Remembering their mother loved light.
I do love light.
I love candles and oil lamps.
I love to try and find new
ways for light to end up on my table.
My prayer is that my children will
be able to see light in
me.

Matthew 5:16
~in the same way let your light shine before men so that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven...~

Thanks for your recent comment. I am juicing--at least three times a day. But being exposed to the mold on a daily basis has done some serious damage. I am so grateful that the Lord has given us insight into what has been causing my long term illnesses.

By the way, we love oil lamps and candles in our home too.

So pretty! I love it! And... I have to say I cannot quit thinking about your new table. It is so beautiful.
